So, I’ve loved this song since I first heard it, and listen to it quite often. It’s “The Moment That It Stops” by The Narrative. If you haven’t heard it; look it up. The music is beautiful, the lyrics are extraordinary, and the overall mood is good. But my absolute favorite part is the bridge after the second chorus. Up until then, it is only the male singer’s voice, but then their female singer jumps in, and they’re having this sort of exchange with the lyrics, where he sings something then she, in song, replies to it, almost conversation-like. So here are the lyrics for this fantastic song, i put the girl’s part in italics so you understand the bridge. for the full effect, look it up please! you won’t regret it:)
The Moment That It Stops
by: The Narrative
Lazy days; you’re the only thing they
waste away.
You’re so afraid of all the problems we’ve been faking.
And You were wondering where I’ve gone
when you want me to make your heart sing..
The boys are slowly chasing on but they can’t guarantee the whole thing.
And when you cry, the eyeliner will slip beneath your eyes you catch your breath.
Brush off your cheek, still aching as your hands whip at your sides, he likes your dress.
Daring words — do you believe that I’ve been stealing time?
And all that hurts will only fade as the days fly.
And then you’ll open up your arms, an you’ll be sent directly in, dear.
Free from the heartache of his harm, when we’re the only one’s who’ll be here.
And when you cry, the eyeliner will slip beneath your eyes to catch your breath.
Brush off your cheek, still aching as your hands whip at your sides; oh I like your dress.
I think a change is what I need.
I thought you needed someone you knew you could trust entirely.
I’ve always been fine on my own.
I thought that you were growing tired of always feeling alone.
These days drag on; I’m losing faith.
You said we’d work it out together but you’re pushing me away.
Well I’m here but I fear my heart is not.
You said your heart would follow me until the moment that it stopped. The moment that it stopped…….
You should have known with all the things I crowded in your mind
— I’d leave you a mess.
